I Love You Often…just not always, channels optimistic yet unconventional perspectives on love, life and other good stuff, because the alternative is no fun.
In the Beginning
Conversations with my friend Jennie and I are consistently primed with a cup of hot tea, so it’s safe to say that ILYO was conceived over a brew of Earl Grey. In an AHA over-caffeinated moment, we concluded that humor trumps sobriety, turning our focus from penning a serious book, to publishing a blog. We found material everywhere, starting with an early-on snarky epiphany in:
Soon After the Beginning
Our weekly brain drains took us far beyond blogging. Some may call it “late onset ADD”, but I see it as embracing the ever-changing world.
Despite the fun, writing became a time suck wedged in between work, family and other priorities. Jennie eased out of ILYO and the project became my on-and-off-again affair of the head and heart. Jennie and I still meet for tea regularly, however our conversations have shifted back to the original topics that took us off track in the first place. That’s another story.
Single Again
Moving forward, I opted to give ILYO a facelift with a new logo paying homage to my husband. On a “date” in San Francisco many moons ago, Joe had a biplane fly by the Golden Gate Bridge pulling a banner that read, “Julie will you marry me.” It was epic and worthy of remembrance.
“Milo”, Joe’s proxy and brave pilot, is back in spirit on the ILYO masthead, delivering an updated message giving true love some needed wiggle room!
Today
Blogging solo is much like having a tempestuous love affair…sometimes it’s hot while others it’s not. I'm back after a long intermission, looking forward to uncovering more unconventional love centric missives.
