It doesn’t get much colder and darker than Denmark in December, which is precisely why Sara Clemence, reporting for the Wall Street Journal, recently traveled to Copenhagen in search of hygge. Hygge is the Danish art of enjoying simple comforts, such as sharing food and drink around the hearth with friends and family.
Rather than board a plane to Europe we had a hygge day with our daughters right here in New England. We started with a pot of tea to set the tone, had fun in the kitchen creating an original lentil soup recipe, and then sat by the fire waiting for the pot to boil before enjoying the warm aromatic flavors of our very own “Love That Lentil” Soup. It was a lovely way to spend a cold, abbreviated winter day with the girls.
Food and fire can be a way to enhance love and relationships in 2012.
HAPPY NEW YEAR ! ♥
