When the initial buzz of a love relationship passes, it’s easy to forget about those winning qualities that brought us together in the first place. Similarly, objects that we inwardly know have value yet lose their appeal, can end up in the recycle bin. In love, a serial relationship recycler repeatedly trades one partner in for a newer version of (what turns out to be) the same old thing.
Consider “upcycling,” the new hipster version of recycling. It’s the process of retooling and repurposing products into something of equal or greater value. In love, upcyclers are optimists that view failed relationships as a training ground for the ultimate consort. They get out of denial, shedding heavy baggage in exchange for lessons learned. These wizened souls are Darwin disciples, embracing internal change, adapting to prevent romantic extinction.
Become an A+ upcycler. Recognize why you were initially so enamored with your “Crazy Ex” to insure you don’t repeat the pattern and become another victim of repetitively being “unlucky in love.”
Upcycle, repurpose, reincarnate, wake up, enjoy. Usher in value and utility to the old, moving I Love You Often closer to I Love You Always.
